Reading Summer Camps 2025

ALL Sports
SNL Sports will be running an All Sports clinic for the weeks following the end of the school year in June! If your child is looking to stay active and participate in a variety of sports and games, then the SNL All Sports Clinic is the place to be!! Everyday the participants will play at least 2 different sports like dodgeball, wiffleball, basketball and capture the flag, to name a few. This clinic is designed to be all about fun!
Please send your child with a non-refrigerated snack for half-day and a non-refrigerated snack and lunch for full-day.6/17- 6/20, Grades K-5 (T-FR 9-12 or 9-3 option) RMHS Turf Field 2

Field Hockey
Come work with Jessica Palmer, former Merrimack College Field Hockey player and current Reading High School Junior Varsity Coach/Varsity Assistant Coach. Jessica loves sharing her love for the sport and helping to develop players' skills on and off the field.
The goal of the clinic is to have each player leave having learned something new and with a new-found love for the sport.
Participants will start the day with a fund game to get everyone moving, followed by a stretching session and warm up. The focus will be on developing essential stick skills and passing techniques then work on drills to practice those skills. Each day will end with a friendly field hockey game to put everything into action. Plenty of water breaks are built in as well as opportunities to learn and grow in the sport!
Participants will need to bring goggles and a field hockey stick.7/7 - 7/10 Ages 6-14 (M- Th 9-12) RMHS Stadium Turf Field.

SNL Rec on The Run
Does your child love to run? Do they want to learn more about the fundamentals of running? This program is geared for children ages 9-12 that want to get moving and begin to experience the joy that running can bring. Each session will be a different style run, helping the kids to build off the session before and grow stronger each time. Running can be a lifetime sport and teaches such valuable lessons on how to mentally and physically dig deep, show perseverance and commitment!
The last session will be a fun run race format that the kids will build to get ready for! The race will be a one-mile race with prizes given to the top three finishers!
Participants will only need to bring athletic clothes, running shoes and water!6/25 - 7/23 Wed. 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm RMHS Track Ages 8-14

SNL Flag Football Clinic
SNL brings in College football players to deliver a fun and educational flag football program.
The goal of this program is to teach the fundamentals of each specific football skill and position so that players will better comprehend and appreciate this fun and exciting sport. Our program includes fun drills and contests that accelerates improvement and fosters a love for the game!
Whether you are brand new to the sport, or looking for experienced competitiveness, SNL is catering to all kids of all different skill levels. Come learn the basics of flag and develop skills and knowledge to take your game to the next level.8/4- 8/7 ages 5-12 9-12pm located at the RMHS Stadium Field.

SNL Soccer Clinic with Coach H.
This clinic will be run by Christian Huizenga. Christian is a current sub varsity soccer and basketball coach at Reading Memorial High School as well as the middle school wellness educator. He is a former varsity high school soccer coach and former head coach at Eastern Nazarene College. Christian was a three-year collegiate soccer player and an all North New Jersey soccer player in high school.
Participants will work on dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting. Stations will encourage learning, fun and creativity and will also include competitions against staff members. Small-sided and full-sided games will be played as well.7/14- 7/17 ages 6-14 9-12 pm Located at the RMHS Stadium Field

SNL Boys and Girls Lacrosse Clinic
These clinics will be led by Coach Kevin Tobin (UMASS) and former Division 1 UMASS players. The focus of the clinic is on skill development. There will be consistent work on ground balls, passing, catching, shooting and footwork. Also, there will be mini-games and competitions throughout the sessions. Younger players will work on basic skill development such as rules to play by, passing, catching, scooping and shooting properly. Older players will work on skill development in all categories of the game as well as some competitive small field competitions.
All participants will need to bring turf or running shoes (no metal spikes), helmet, lacrosse stick and water.Boys: 7/14- 7/17 ages 5-14 9-12 pm
Girls: 7/21- 7/24 ages 5-14 9-12 pm

SNL After Daycation Club Ages 4-14
Child must attend the Reading Recreation Summer Daycation or Summer Junior Daycation to be eligible for the SNL After Daycation Club.
The After Daycation Club program is designed to help provide additional childcare coverage to those who are in need. The program will be from 3:00PM-5:00PM and children will be offered choices for free play with sports, arts & crafts and board/card games each day. Participants are responsible for bringing their own non-refrigerated snack.

On or before June 16th:
Refund minus $10 in the form of a check or a full credit to your Reading Recreation account to use toward future Recreation programs.
After June 16th:
No refund checks will be given for cancellations. Account credits can be applied to your Reading Recreation account ONLY.

Boys Basketball with Jeff Nelson
Camp Director will be Jeff Nelson: Former NBA Scout for the 76ers & Lakers. Jeff is a former Varsity coach at Tewksbury and Reading High Schools. Coach Nelson’s clients include Professional Basketball Players Tyler Nelson and George Niang of the Philadelphia 76ers as well as many of the top high school players in the Merrimack Valley. Activities will include individual skills and drills, shooting contests and team games.

Join Cambridge Rindge and Latin Hall of Fame High School Coach Lance Dottin and former Reading High School Varsity Assistant Coach Carl McFadden for an exciting and dynamic Co-Ed Basketball program designed for players of all skill levels.This program provides a unique opportunity for both boys and girls to come together, improve their basketball skills, and experience the thrill of team play in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you're new to basketball or looking to elevate your game, this program will focus on developing fundamental skills, boosting confidence, and fostering teamwork. The emphasis will be on building a strong foundation in basketball techniques, agility, and basketball IQ, all while having fun and making lasting memories on the court.

Rec on the Run
Does your child love to run? Do they want to learn more about the fundamentals of running? This program is geared for children ages 9-12 that want to get moving and begin to experience the joy that running can bring. Running can be a lifetime sport and teaches such valuable lessons of how to mentally and physically " digging deep", show perseverance and commitment!
The last session will be a fun run race format that the kids will build to get ready for! The race will be a 1 mile race with prizes given to the top 3 finishers!

SNL Boys Lacrosse
SNL is partnering with UMass Lacrosse players for a skills and drills program with Wakefield native Ryan Fitzpatrick as lead instructor. The program is offered to boys Grades K to 8 of all skill levels. We will work on the lacrosse basics like the rules, passing, catching, cradling and shooting. We will focus on skills for each position learning from the best.
June 23rd to June 26th (Monday to Thurs)

SNL Girls Lacrosse Clinic
If you’re looking to improve your individual lacrosse skills, have fun and meet new friends , this is the camp for you! Our lacrosse camps are geared to lax players of all ability levels from experienced players to beginners. Our four-day LAX camps provide lacrosse players with lacrosse training improving your stick skills and game knowledge! while also stressing the importance of developing leadership skills and being a good sport. We are committed to provide individualized development, and you’re sure to develop a new found confidence and passion for the sport of lacrosse!
